What are Epic's Core Financial Practices?
Who oversee's the Church's Finances?Epic's finances are overseen by two main groups of people: The Finance Team, and The Elders. The Finance Team is made up of several members of our congregation who have been carefully vetted by our elders and staff. They are responsible for overseeing the development of the budget, setting financial goals for the congregation, and monitoring the financial status of the church throughout the year. In addition, they make recommendations to the elders about other important budgetary matters. The Elders make the final decisions about yearly budgets, staff salraies, capital fund raising, and major organizational items such as capital fund raising and property purchases.
Who is on the Finance Team?
As of Nov. 1, 2016, Melanie Briggs leads the Finance Team. Contact her at: 602-579-3924 or firstname.lastname@example.org. Other Finance Team members are: Ed Blaszczyk, Judi Blaszczyk, Val Dominguez, Richard Martin, Kelly Herzberg, and Jim Herzberg.
How are the contributions secured and protected? Each week all financial contributions are collected, secured, and protected through a series of checks and balances. At no time is any one person, nor any staff member, alone with any contributions, or access to any contributions. Each week's offerings are kept under lock until the Counting Team counts all funds.
Does the church have a copy of it's Yearly Budget that I can see? Yes--as a church we believe in financial disclosure and actually want every member of our congregation to know how God's resources are being used. Please contact Valerie at 480-882-9530.
Does the church financially help its own members? Yes! Part of our budget is set aside to help the members of our congregation in times of crisis or need. To apply for our beneveloence fund, please click here and share your request with our staff.
