About Us

Epic Christian Church is an independent, non-denominational Christian Church. Our roots are from the Restoration Movement (Independent Christian Churches and Churches of Christ). Our Elder Board, established in early 2012, guards us spiritually and strategically through prayer, teaching the Word, protecting sound doctrine and shepherding the flock.

Epic was planted through STADIA, an international ministry dedicated to planting independent Christian Churches, and four parent churches: Central Christian Church, Broadway Chrisitan Church, Chandler Christian Church and Spring of Life Christian Church (now CCV-East Valley). Pastor Jeff and Chrissy Myal launched the church on February 27, 2005.

In August of 2014,  Jim Herzberg became the Lead Pastor. Jim and his wife Kelly moved from Colorado Springs, CO at the end of 2009 to join the Epic Team as the Associate Pastor of Adult Discipleship. The Herzbergs have three daughters, two sons-in-law and three grandchildren!

Epic has met in three different locations. After a year of meeting at Kathryn Sue Simonton Elementary School, Epic moved to Walker Butte K-8 School in Johnson Ranch and remained there as a portable church for over 10 years. On Dec. 4th, 2016, Epic started holding one service at 10:30am by leasing from an Apostolic Assembly of Faith in Christ Jesus congregation at 5330 E. Skyline Drive, San Tan Valley, 85140.

Our 5 Pillars

GLORY

We seek to give God glory in all we think, say and do!

(Isaiah 43:6-7; Ephesians 3:21; Revelation 5:12)

RESCUE

We have a sense of urgency about joining God in His work of saving the lost!  (Proverbs 24:11; Romans 7:24-25)

DISCIPLE

We will be a reproducing church! Disciples who make other disciples who make other disciples. We will also plant churches that plant churches.

(Matthew 28:18-20; 2 Timothy 2:2; Proverbs 27:17)

FAMILY

We will be a family that sacrifically serves one another with grace, compassion and empathy! (John 13:34-35; Galatians 6:10)

IMPACT

We will be intentional about making an impact for Jesus in our community and world with the Gospel!

(Matthew 24:14; Isaiah 58:6-7; Micah 6:8)
