Epic Christian Church
Epic Christian Church began as a vision from God, planted in the hearts and minds of several different people and churches. Each one had the same desire: to plant a dynamic church in the growing areas of Queen Creek and the surrounding San Tan community. Early in 2004, a parent church network made up of four East Valley churches came together, partnered with a national church planting organization know as STADIA, and began to lay the foundation for this exciting new work. With the support structure in place, these partners began to pray for a leader for the Queen Creek church.
THE EPIC STORY
Concurrently, Jeff and Chrissy Myal were being led by God through a series of different life lessons and circumstances which led them to pursue church planting as their next area of ministry. The vision for a new church was being thoroughly imbedded in their hearts by God. A vision for a church that passionately communicated the story of God; that taught people about their true identity in Christ; and connected people in genuine and authentic community.
Through some very "non-coincidental" circumstances, the Myals became connected with STADIA and were introduced to the new work that was being planned for the Queen Creek area. After a series of interviews and assessments, the Myals were hired by STADIA to bring their vision to Queen Creek and be the Lead Planters for the new church.
In August of 2004 the Myals spent a week in training at STADIA's home office in Vacaville, CA. This time was used to refine the vision that God had given them for Epic Christian Church. In September the Myal family left their home, and ministry, in Colorado Springs to move back to their native Arizona. Over the next several months they shared the vision for EPIC and built a core team of committed believers who would help launch the new church on February 27th, 2005.
